One of the wonderful things about living in a small farming town is summertime. Local produce is plentiful and the hot days provide a variety of delicious options. This week I received an invitation for a weekend blueberry picking, from a small local farm with acres of the biggest juiciest blueberries I have ever tasted.
I arrived first thing Sunday morning, to a gorgeous blue sky and blueberries as far as the eye could see. I picked 20 pounds of these blue beauties, wanting more but knowing my freezer couldn’t contain anymore.
There are many U-pick berry farms around the country. Search the internet for your area. It’s a great way to spend a weekend morning, and a wonderful way to fill the freezer with healthy foods for winter.

How long did it take to pick 20 pounds? How much did they charge you?
I think it took me about an hour to hour and half. I think they were $1.50-2.00/lb.
